As a first-generation student, I am incredibly grateful to have been awarded the Latino Future Leaders Scholarship in 2024. Graduating from Dunwoody High School and embarking on my academic journey at the Georgia Institute of Technology, I am pursuing a degree in Business with a Finance concentration.
This scholarship has been instrumental in alleviating the financial burden associated with higher education, allowing me to smoothly transition into this exciting new chapter. With the support of this award, I have been able to actively engage in various finance-related events and continue to serve my community through volunteer work.
Beyond the financial assistance, this scholarship has provided me with valuable opportunities to learn more about Ecuadorian culture through my involvement in ASEG events. The welcoming atmosphere and the organization’s commitment to its mission have inspired me to actively participate in the community and contribute to those in need.
I am deeply grateful to the Ecuadorian Association of Georgia for their unwavering support and for making a significant impact on my educational journey.
Thank you,
Liliana Perez Varga
I had the privilege of being a recipient of the Future Latin Leaders scholarship, awarded by ASEG in 2023. This scholarship was instrumental in allowing me to continue my Master’s studies in Advertising at SCAD, Savannah College of Art and Design.
The financial incentive provided me with the opportunity to cover half of the expenses for my third quarter at this prestigious educational institution. This financial support was invaluable, as my family in Ecuador and I did not have the necessary resources to face these costs at that time.
ASEG has played a fundamental role in my life during my stay in Georgia. This year, I have had the opportunity to participate in their activities and events, which highlight the cultural richness of Ecuador and bring our community together. This connection with ASEG has been a beacon of fellowship and support amidst distance and challenges, making me feel truly accompanied in my process.
Sincerely,
Maite Alejandra Escobar Saavedra
